Christy was born in Evanston to Rose Alyce (Henriksen) and Thomas Edgar Passey. She passed away at University of Utah after a short bout with cancer.
She attended school in Evanston from kindergarten to high school. She was a cook for 42 years at various restaurants, both in Wyoming and Kansas. She cooked for the local hospital and school district in Fredonia, Kansas, for four years. She loved to camp, fish and hunt rocks with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Autumn Richardson of Fort Bridger; two grandchildren, Abby and Michael, one great-granddaughter, Kendalynn; one son, James (Deanna) Walters of Casper, and their children, Athena and Bruce. Also surviving her are her mom, Rose Hutchinson of Evanston; her brother, Lonnie Passey of Evanston; brother, Tom Passey; brother, Dale Passey of Evanston; sister, Pamela (Kenny) Warner; brother, Gary (Angel) Passey of Salt Lake City; sister, Tara (Tom) Smith of Toronto, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death are her father, Thomas E. Passey; brother, F. John Passey; and brother, Michael G. Hutchinson of Toronto, Kansas.
She was cremated, and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
