Christine Rae Fisher of Green River, who resided in Andrews, Texas, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 53 at Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Chris was born to Gerald and Paula Leturgey on Oct. 15, 1967, in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Hanna Elk Mountain High School in the class of 1985, where she formed lifelong friendships.

Chris was a former resident of Rawlins, Rock Springs and Green River. She married her soulmate, Michael Fisher, on Aug. 28, 2009. She was a dedicated wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister, auntie and friend. She loved all of her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.

Family bonds were most important to Chris. To know her was to love her, and if she loved you there was never a doubt because she loved with everything she had and then some. She particularly enjoyed traveling with Michael and her granddaughters and spending time at the lake, where she most often out-fished everyone.

Chris also had a passion for gardening. She was blessed with a green thumb and a love for the outdoors where she, her husband and Ember would go camping at Flaming Gorge with her and Michael’s family most summers. As a whole, she loved going up in the mountain with all of us — I think she loved being closer to what she would describe as a heavenly view.

Chris was preceded in death by her grandparents; her mother, Paula Leturgey; second mother, Katherine Leturgey; and father-in-law, David Fisher.

Chris is survived by her father, Gerald Leturgey of Rock Springs; daughter, Sarah Hejduk of Andrews, Texas; son, Shane Hejduk of Tulsa, Oklahoma; husband, Michael Fisher of Evanston (he resides in Andrews, Texas); mother-in-law, Inge Fisher of Evanston; brothers, Jerry Leturgey Jr. (Nichole) of Rock Springs, Paul “PJ” Leturgey of Rock Springs, and Sean Nyland (Alicia) of Phoenix; sisters, Holly Morgan (Tim) of Rock Springs, Cathleen Daniels of Glenrock, and Chrissy Paulding (Nick) of Rock Springs; granddaughters, Ember Rae and Addison Rayne Hejduk of Andrews, Texas; and best friend, Connie Lipsett of Keensberg, Colorado.

The family is planning a private memorial following cremation on Tuesday, Sept 28.
