EVANSTON — Cal Thomas passed away at the University of Utah hospital early Sept. 9, 2021, after complications with heart surgery.
Cal was a loving father to the girls, Timaley and Tyerria, and a wonderful Papa to Ryker, Morgan and Hunter. Cal loved to be camping, side-by-side riding, watching NHRA or reading a good book.
Cal was talented when it came to mechanizing and carpentry. Cal worked for many years at Union Telephone and worked until he retired from the county with road and bridges. Papa, as his grandkids would call him, was always willing to sit on the porch and listen to their stories.
Cal was survived by Timaley and Tyerria; his son-in-laws, David Kertz and Brian Deru; his grandchildren: Ryker, Morgan and Hunter; his partner, Kathy; two sisters, one brother and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; one son, Norman; one grandson, Tyler; both parents; two brothers and one sister.
A graveside service will be noon Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at Grace Cemetery in Grace, Idaho.
