The Uinta County Sheriff’s Office confirmed what many have speculated: the body found in Bridger Valley the afternoon of April 26 is that of Trevor Boyd, a valley man who had been missing since November of last year. Local law enforcement said last week that they do not suspect foul play.
Deputies responded to a haystack in a field outside Fort Bridger in April and found a male body that appeared to have been deceased for some time. “The body was located in close proximity to the area of where a reported missing person, Trevor Boyd, had been last seen in November 2020,” a press release from the sheriff’s office states.
An updated press release, issued Thursday morning, states, “After a forensic medical examination, the body found outside of Fort Bridger on April 26 … was positively identified to be that of Trevor Boyd. The time of death was estimated to have been consistent with the time Trevor had been last seen, which had been on Nov. 16, 2020, [after] leaving a jobsite outside of Fort Bridger on foot. There was no obvious sign of foul play and the cause of death was listed as: Exposure.”
