LYMAN — Blanche Field Bradshaw, Lyman, died peacefully at the age of 97 in Herriman, Utah.

She was born Feb. 21, 1920, to Donald Matthew Field and Martha Roberts in Lyman, where she spent most of her life.

On Sept. 12, 1936, she married the love of her life, George 'Haldane' Bradshaw, in Evanston, later solemnizing their marriage in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 20, 1941. They spent 62 years together loving life and raising their four children.

Blanche and Haldane enjoyed horses, fishing, cookouts, camping, and especially, the annual camping trips to the Cache with their children and grandchildren. Blanche loved sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening, family history and visiting. She became a dedicated Utah Jazz fan and often wore her Jazz jersey when watching their games. She loved the music of Elvis Presley and Andre Reiu.

She was a true matriarch, who actively kept in touch with her family, either by phone or letter, and never missed a birthday or anniversary.  Some of her favorite foods were chicken and noodles, boiled raisin cake, and anything chocolate.

Blanche was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving, whether it was with the cub scouts, as Relief Society president, or anything in between. From 1990 – 1991, she and Haldane served a Family History mission in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She loved being a grandma and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She also loved the little animals. Some combination of chickens, dogs and cats were always a part of her life. She had a special tender heart for the stray cats and always fed them outside her front door. They in turn made sure she never had a mouse in the house.

Blanche is survived by her four children, Ralph (Linda) Lyman, Michael (Sally Joyce) Herriman, Utah; Garth (Rhonda) Homer, Alaska; and Julie Bluemel (Barry) Lyman; 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, her sisters: Connie Jean Hickey and Carol Lue Hofer, and her brother, George Field.

Our family rejoices that, after 19 years of separation, Blanche and Haldane are once again reunited. We also feel joy at her reunion with her parents, Donald and Martha Field, her brothers, Dee and Ernest who were cut down in the prime of life because of war, and her sister, Shirley Bowen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Lyman LDS Church at 11 a.m. A viewing will be held, beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral, for family and friends. Interment will be in the Lyman Cemetery.
