Blaine Paul Sanders

Blaine Paul Sanders, 58, passed away surrounded by his friends and family Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.

Paul was born on Nov. 1, 1960, in Salt Lake City, son of Blaine and Leah Sanders. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Weber State University in 1984. He then returned to Evanston and gained experience in the restaurant industry working with his family, first at The Three Knights, and then at West Gate. With this experience, Paul was offered and accepted an opportunity to join the Uinta County Sheriff’s Office as a cook in November 1991.

He clearly enjoyed his profession and climbed the ranks to sergeant throughout his 27 years with the department. Outside of work, Paul was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan. He enjoyed camping and spending time at “The Lot,” hunting and fishing with his dad, golfing, walking at the state park with his black lab Bear, reading and watching the Denver Broncos.   

Paul is preceded in death by his mother, Leah Mae Rawson Sanders; and a brother-in-law, Brad Welling.

Paul is survived by two daughters, Tara Sanders (Chris Gerrard) of Evanston and Lindsey Sanders of Phoenix, Arizona; a grandchild, Keegan Gerrard; his father, Blaine S. Sanders of Evanston; a sister, Chris Welling of Evanston; two nieces, Amie (Matt) Petrie and Jessica (Steve) Mensing both of Evanston; Amie and Matt’s children, Melissa and Jaxson Petrie; Jessica and Steve’s children, Maddie and TesaLea Mensing. 

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, with a visitation starting at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Evanston City Cemetery.
