EVANSTON — Betty Jane Stapler, 100 years young, passed away Dec. 6, 2022.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother with a big heart for her four legged family members.

She traveled the world as a career military wife working as a registered nurse along the way.

She loved music, dancing, sewing, crosswords, books, and of course, traveling.

She is survived by her children: Carl L. Stapler, Christopher Stapler, Konrad (Roni) Stapler, Jane Stapler, Geoffrey (InSuk) Stapler and Jennifer Stapler; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Stapler; her parents, Raymond and Pearl Sheets; two sisters, Martha and Ginny and a daughter-in-law, Jo Stapler.

There will be a graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, where she will be interred next to her husband Carl.
