EVANSTON — Evanston High School senior Chandler Anderson signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for Sisseton Wahpeton College last week while surrounded by former coaches and teammates.
As a senior, the 6-foot, 7-inches Anderson averaged 6.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game and led the team with 38 blocks in 24 games. Anderson said he had been contacted by a couple of schools throughout the year, but had only recently heard from Sisseton Wahpeton College prior to signing with them on April 24.
The college is located in northeast South Dakota and is a member of the Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, made up of 10 schools from North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. The conference is a member of the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association). This past season, Sisseton Wahpeton’s men’s basketball program won the conference with an 11-1 record.
