EVANSTON — The Evanston Civic Orchestra and Chorus are pairing up again for a dazzling Americana tour with their concert “America the Beautiful.”
The two groups usually perform twice a year, most notably for the biennial “Messiah” production. They have also performed several concerts featuring repertoire spanning centuries, from Baroque to Romantic to jazz to modern pop arrangements.
Their next performance will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, at Evanston Middle School (a change in venue from the normal performance location). It will feature American favorites such as Battle Hymn of the Republic, Shenandoah, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, Witness, Cindy, America the Beautiful and more. The audience will also have an opportunity to participate in one of the pieces.
Admission is free, and refreshments will be served afterward.
