Alice Marie (Rea) Rasmussen Huntington

Our precious, darling mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Alice Marie (Rea) Rasmussen Huntington of Lyman, passed away peacefully and quietly on Thursday, May 9. She was 94 years old.

Every moment of her life was spent loving her children and her family and her sweetheart, Chauncey George (Bud), she loved being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and even a great-great-grandmother.

Alice was born on June 28, 1924, in Robertson, to George A. Rasmussen and Helen Hinshaw Rasmussen. She grew up in Robertson on the family ranch and loved sharing stories of all of her adventures and her love for her siblings and family.

She married her sweetheart, Chauncey George (Bud), whom she met on the merry-go-round at Liberty Park. They married and moved to Tabiona, Utah, and later moved to the Salt Lake valley, and then to what she called home, in Lyman on the Huntington ranch, where they raised their seven boys.

Alice worked in the Lyman school lunchroom, cooking and serving others — she was known for her amazing rolls and bread.

Chauncey (Bud) passed away sept 27, 1997, and she has missed him every day since.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having many callings in her Lyman ward. She loved going to the hills and driving past the old ranch, having picnics roasting hot dogs, doing genealogy; she loved every chance she got to visit the temple, she loved to cook and bake in her younger years and serve others as much as possible.

Alice will always be remembered for her love for her family, serving others, her sweet spirit and commitment to the gospel. She will be dearly missed by many because all who knew her loved her. We are rejoicing with her now as she reunites with her husband and family that have gone on before her.

She is survived by six children, Kenneth (Donna), Keith (Teressa), Carl, Tom (Vangie), Terry (Tammy) and Jerry (Barbara); 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She is proceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chauncey Bud; one child, Craig Huntington; three brothers, three sisters, two grandkids and many more.

Viewing was held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 13. There will be another viewing from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, at the Urie Stake Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, at the Urie Stake Center. Interment will be at the Fort Bridger Cemetery.

Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. Words can’t express how grateful we are for the beautiful family and friends we have. Thank you from the bottom our hearts.
