A Chevy Cruze and a Ford F-150 collided at the intersection of Front and 9th streets shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 3. Evanston Police Lt. Ken Pearson said the car’s driver was an inexperienced driver with a learner’s permit, and his mom and sister were in the vehicle yelling at him when he became flustered and turned at the light. The turn took him into the path of the pickup, which hit the car broadside. Pearson said the mom and sister were transported to Evanston Regional Hospital for minor injuries.
