Eating your veggies will be a lot easier for Wyoming residents with the new grant program from Feeding Laramie Valley. Funding is now available for innovative, community-based projects that focus on vegetables, fruits and nuts.

Through a partnership with the Wyoming Department of Agriculture Specialty Crop Program, Feeding Laramie Valley will award at least 20 grants throughout Wyoming, ranging from a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $10,000. Awards will be available to eligible non-profits and other entities that may include new community gardens, expanding and supporting existing community gardens, school gardens, season extension projects, garden clubs, local governments, schools, community colleges, conservation districts, individuals and more.

The grant program not only benefits producers, but will benefit the wider community as well since each grant requires an educational or demonstration component. Priority will go to small producers and entities who may benefit from grant funding but have not been eligible for Specialty Crop Funds in the past.

These grants will be competitive and ranked for their impact on specialty crop production, consumption, and education. Make sure to apply early in the grant cycle to have adequate time to complete your project by Sept. 1, 2025. The three application deadlines are May 31, 2024, Sept. 30, 2024, and March 3, 2025.
