The Evanston High School boys’ swimming and diving team hosted their home invitational over the weekend, and it was a weekend the team won’t soon forget.

The Red Devils claimed the overall team title, winning eight of the 12 events to finish with 336 points. Rock Springs was second with 279 points, followed by Green River (243), Rawlins (163) and Lyman (146).

Red Devil senior Jaxson Daniels led the charge in the individual events, winning the 50 freestyle (23.21) and the 100 butterfly (56.91) in state-qualifying times; he also swam legs in the first-place 200 medley relay – along with teammates Hanky Phillips, Eldon Hogman and Hyrum Bell – and the 200 freestyle relay, which took second, along with teammates Jacob Olson, Kyler Hogman and Wyatt Sawyer.

Other individual event winners included Wyatt Sawyer, who won the 100 freestyle in a time of 53.03; Hanky Phillips, winner of the 100 backstroke, in a time of 1:01.35; and Eric Hughes, who won the diving event, with a score of 374.15.

The 400 freestyle relay team of Kyler Hogman, Jacob Olson, Hanky Phillips and Wyatt Sawyer won the event with a time of 3:43.11.

Other notable finishes included a second-place finish by Sawyer in the 200 freestyle (1:59.62), while Hyrum Bell finished second in the 200 individual medley, with a time of 2:27.96. Jacob Olson was runner-up in the 500 freestyle, with a time of 5:20.00.

Eldon Hogman was the top Red Devil finisher in the 100 breaststroke, placing third, with a time of 1:12.80.
